Jo Koy (Joseph Glenn Herbert) is a Filipino-American stand-up comic. Koy began standup comedy in 1994 at a comedy club in Las Vegas. Soon Koy moved from open mic night to becoming one
of the most requested comedians[citation needed] at Catch a Rising Star, a signature show at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. A talent coordinator from Los Angeles spotted Koy and landed him his first television appearance on BET's Comic View. Koy has been on two seasons of Comic View and Showtime at the Apollo. He is currently touring the college circuit as a featured comedian and performs in clubs across the country.

Koy has opened for headlining acts of Dave Chappelle, Mike Epps, Carlos Mencia, and Snoop Dogg. American troops in Japan and Korea witnessed Koy's energetic and physical style of comedy during a recent USO tour.

Recently, Jo offered his commentary on the VH1 series I Love the '80s 3-D as well as I Love the New Millennium.

At his show in Brisbane, Australia on October 19, 2008, Koy revealed that he had been offered a Comedy Hour on Comedy Central and would soon begin filming his new show, "The Jo Koy Show".
