Henry Randall Baskett III (born September 4, 1982 in Clovis, New Mexico) is an American football wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He was signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2006. He played college football at New Mexico. High school years

Hank Baskett attended Clovis High School in Clovis, New Mexico and was an excellent student and a letterman in football, basketball, and track. In football, he was an All-State selection as both a wide receiver and as a punter. Hank Baskett III graduated from Clovis High School in 2001.[1]

College career

Baskett was the University of New Mexico's leading receiver in 2004 and 2005, as he earned All-Mountain
West Conference honors as a senior, posting 67 receptions for 1,071 yds. and nine touchdowns. A four-time all-academic MWC honoree, he graduated with a degree in General Management.[2]

Professional career

Minnesota Vikings

He originally signed with the Minnesota Vikings as a rookie undrafted free agent in 2006 out of the University of New Mexico and was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for wide receiver Billy McMullen.[3]

Philadelphia Eagles

With the departure of Todd Pinkston in training camp, Baskett had an opportunity for increased playing time. He had key games against the Dallas Cowboys (112 receiving yards and one touchdown) and the Atlanta Falcons (177 receiving yards and one touchdown). For his performance in these games, Baskett was awarded rookie of the week honors. He completed his rookie season with 22 receptions for 464 yards (21.1 yards per catch) and two touchdowns.[4]

He only managed 16 receptions for the Eagles during the 2007 season. He was however named the special teams MVP.[5]

Personal life
