Biography

Melissa is the only child of Joan Rivers and British-born producer Edgar Rosenberg, who committed
suicide in 1987. She took on her mother's stage surname for notoriety.

Rivers attended the private John Thomas Dye School in Bel-Air[1] and then The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks (Joan always joked that Melissa went to Beverly Hills High School). She is a 1989 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

On December 12, 1999 she married horse breeder John Endicott; their divorce was finalized on June 19, 2003. The two have a son, Edgar Cooper Endicott, who was born on December 1, 2000.

Career

She raised $100,000 for Make-A-Wish foundation.[2] In 1990 Melissa Rosenberg (Rivers) was crowned Queen Shenandoah LXIII at the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival In winchester Va. Her mother, Joan Rivers was in attendance.(thebloom.com) As an actress, she has appeared in shows including Beverly Hills, 90210, Silk Stalkings, The Comeback and The L Word.

She hosted fashion/red carpet interviews with her mother Joan Rivers for the E! cable network. After being fired from E! the Rivers' worked for the TV Guide channel until fired again as both the Rivers' were replaced by actress Lisa Rinna.

Melissa is also a regular guest on Tom Green's webcast show, Tom Green Live.

On June 24th 2008, Melissa appeared on NBC’s show Celebrity Family Feud with her mother,
as a part of the Rivers Family Team. She competed with her Mother, Joan, first against the Ice-T Family Team, then went on to compete against the Raven Symone Family Team. They won $50,000 for their charity, Guide Dogs For The Blind.

She is currently appearing on Celebrity Apprentice, alongside her mother. Throughout the season, each celebrity will be raising money for a charity of their choice; Rivers has selected the Lili Claire Foundation.[3]
