The National Society of High School Scholars, or NSHSS was founded in 2002 by Claes Nobel to recognize high school students and offer scholarships and annual academic competitions. Members normally pay a membership fee, which can be waived,[1] and must be a 2nd semester Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in high school with at The organization allows the membership fee to be waived for families suffering financial hardship. The organization has formed a partnership with The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) National College Fairs Program[5] to encourage students to attend college fairs and connect with university representatives. Abercrombie & Fitch has joined with the Society, providing an additional $75,000 USD in scholarships,[6] NSHSS participated in the 10th Annual Linkage Summit on Leading Diversity in March 2009, where students from across the country shared their views on diversity and career aspiratons with some of the nation's top companies in a Q&A workshop session. http://www.idsnews.com/news/story.aspx?id=67006&comview=1 Members also participated in the World Diversity Leadership Summit in New York City in July 2008, for a two-day conference addressing diversity issues in the workplace, held at the United Nations.
